SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROME

Sudden infant death syndrome is a silent death during the sleep stage in infancy which has a multifactorial cause. Risk factors from epidemiological point of view are mostly smoking of parents, low socio-economic state, seasonality, prone position, etnicity and age of baby. The prevention is partly possible by using of home apnea monitors.
