Pyogenní absces jater je vzácnou komplikací laparoskopických chirurgických výkonů u dětí. Prezentována je kazuistika patnáctileté dívky s touto komplikací po laparoskopické apendektomii. Absces jater byl úspěšně léčen drenáží pomocí perkutánního transhepatického katetru a parenterální aplikací antibiotik. Další komplikací byl rozvoj pravostranné pleuropneumonie, u které hrudní drenáž se širokospektrální antibiotickou léčbou vedla k vyléčení.
