Mezinárodní studie TRIGR (Trial to Reduce IDDM in the Genetically at Risk) se snaží prokázat, zda úplné vyloučení bílkovin kravského mléka ze stravy kojence po prvních šest měsíců jeho věku může snížit riziko vzniku diabetes mellitus 1. typu u dětí s vysokým genetickým rizikem. Do studie jsou zařazováni novorozenci, jejichž příbuzný 1. stupně má diabetes 1. typu a genetické vyšetření potvrdí vysokou míru rizika. Děti jsou kojeny stejně jako ostatní jejich vrstevníci, ale pokud jsou přikrmovány, dostávají místo běžných přípravků kojenecké výživy speciální přípravek. V celém desetiletém průběhu studie je pak sledován vliv této změny stravy na riziko vzniku diabetu.

Prosíme o spolupráci při vyhledávání těhotných žen splňujících podmínky pro vstup do studie (budoucí maminka, tatínek nebo některé z jejich dětí má diabetes 1. typu).
