Změny ve spektru infekčních onemocnění

Skutečnost, že infektologie patří mezi nejdynamičtěji se rozvíjející medicínské obory, se odrazila i ve spektru infekčních nemocí, se kterými se v současné době setkáváme. Za posledních 30 let došlo k objevům desítek nových infekčních onemocnění nebo k nosologickým jednotkám známým již v minulosti byl objeven původce (např. legionelóza, AIDS, lymeská borelióza, kampylobakterióza, rotavirová a norovirová gastroenteritida, hantavirový plicní syndrom, ptačí chřipka, SARS atd.)...
