Hygienic rules in personal hygiene, dressing and life style have in girls and boys a specific significance. The rules are different in individual
life periods and especially in girls are associated with hormonal changes during life periods. In conjunction with hormonal
changes diseases depend on presence or absence of estrogens. Hygiene of external genital in boys is mostly associated with care
of prepuce sack. During gradual separation of inner layer of foreskin from glans problems with hygiene may transiently be raised
and balanoposthitis may develop. Its consequence may be subsequent cicatricial phimoses that may be also congenital as well as
hydrocela. It is fundamental to instruct parents already in new-borne age about a proper care of external genitals in boys and girls.
The acquisition of correct hygienic rules in childhood and mainly their adherence during the whole life is very important. As a consequence
of a nonadherence the risk of infection spreading frequently to internal genitals increases and it may become a cause of
infertility in males and females.
