The authors present a case report of a sixteen year old girl unable to swallow solid foods and with a history of progressive vomiting.
Laboratory, imaging and histological results revealed paediatric (self-limited) Ménétrier’s disease. The incidence of this disease in children
is very rare. In contrast with the adult, chronic form, paediatric Ménétrier’s disease has a favourable prognosis, and spontaneously
recedes within two to six weeks. The authors discuss the possible aetiological factors, the pathophysiological mechanisms and clinical symptom in their patient.
