Issues of care of the neonate after discharge from hospital to home care

The aim of this paper is to focus primary care pediatricians on certain medical conditions in the newborns after their discharge from

maternity unit. Although most babies are discharged after 72 hours post delivery, since this year it is acceptable to discharge newborn

even sooner if adequate follow up is provided. This review contains summary of basic pathological conditions in the newborn period

that pediatricians can meet in their practice.
