Selected evalvating scales in the care of the newborn

Mgr.Jaroslava Fendrychová, Ph.D.
Katedra ARIPP, NCO NZO Brno

The contribution mentions selected evaluating scales that can be used in the care of newborns and infants. They can be used to assess

the state of the behavior of sick newborn, its possible manifestations of pain, agitation and sedation, and possible withdrawal symptoms

manifested shortly after the birth or during hospitalization in a neonatal intensive care unit. Because they belong to the lesser known

and rarely used, are described more detailed how to work with them.

Keywords: evaluating scales, newborn, behavior, pain, agitation, sedation, withdrawal symptoms
