Epilepsies of adolescence

Adolescent period is characterized by great somatic, mental and hormonal changes. It is also time of acquiring of social status, first

sexual relationships and preparation for future employment. The treatment of epilepsies at this age impinges all these aspects

and therefore it is specific to certain extent. The following article is focused on fundamental features, specifics and therapeutic

approaches of various epileptic syndromes of adolescence, and it is also briefly devoted to a question of contraception in girls

and women with epilepsy, becoming very important just in this age.
