Communication in the medical practice is an art at the level of a top acting performance, particularly with children and family
members. There is an increasing number of emotionally isolated children and somatic complaints develop. The complaints are
difficult to explain and interfere with. In primary care, examination by a specialist is helpful. He needs to have correct information.
A possibility of consulting a specialist would be of use. In the case of patient referral, a thorough report is commonplace. Discussion
groups with colleagues in the community are inspiring; this also works in preventing burn-out syndrome. Positive communication
among co-workers in the surgery is crucial. Communication with the public in order to educate in self-care is irreplaceable. It is
recommended to incorporate communication skills into teaching.
