Interdisciplinary cooperation especially between a paediatrician and a pedicurist in treating unguis incarnatus prevents protracted and repetitive relapses. A conservative and painless way is to use different types of nail support, tamponade and taping the lateral nail fold. Surgical solutions such as a lateral nail fold surgery, a nail plate partial resection or a total ablation are not desirable. Early diagnosis and professional treatment with a nail support interventions prevents nail bed damage and deformities of the finger joint after frequent surgeries. A conservative approach to treatment allows for an immediate return to normal life.
