The article deals mainly with the conservative approach and practical education of parents by the nurse in eye care of newborns and infants with epiphora and congenital tear duct obstruction. Lacrimal sac massage is a widely used non-invasive treatment modality and a high level of parental compliance is a prerequisite for its effectiveness. Part of the text is devoted to a brief description of the invasive method of tear duct probing and lacrimal lavage.

Keywords: infant, epiphora, tear duct obstruction, tear duct massage, education, nurse, parents.
