Quo vadis, dětská nefrologie?

Obor dětská nefrologie zažívá v pos­ledních desetiletích obdobně jako další medicínské disciplíny mnohé úspěchy, které významně přispívají ke zlepšení kvality života dětí s chorobami ledvin. Rozvoj diagnostických metod včetně molekulární genetiky umožňuje, abychom porozuměli patogenetickým mechanismům řady onemocnění, s čímž souvisí i výrazný pokrok ve vývoji nových léčiv, směřujících k cílené terapii nefropatií s lepší efektivitou a nižší toxicitou. Nové technologie otevřely prostor i pro účinnou hemodialyzační léčbu novorozenců a malých kojenců. Inovativní chirurgické postupy a moderní imunosu­presivní léčba stojí za zlepšeným přežíváním pacientů s transplantovanou ledvinou. V tomto stručném textu se věnuji novinkám v diagnostice a léčbě akutního poškození ledvin, geneticky podmíněných nefropatií, chronického onemocnění ledvin a léčebným postupům u pacientů s transplantovanou ledvinou.
