Growing pain belongs to frequent problems of childhood. In spite of this fact surprisingly little information is available about it. It has an important place in differential diagnostic thinking in the case of pain of lower extremities in childhood and could significantly interfere with daily program of children. Immune response is potentially harmful for host. For this reason immune response has to be induced only by those signals of both exo- and endogenous origin which can disturb homeostasis. These so called „danger signals“ are identified by innate immunity through receptors for danger patterns (PRR). This is followed by the development of inflammatory response including specific immune mechanisms. Exspecially specific immunity is undergoing substantial changes during ontogeny under the influence of numerous exogenous stimuli including nutrition. Breast feeding is a key factor in this process. Rotaviruses cause annually 111–125 million of illnesses leading to 0.5–1 million of deaths. As many as 2,837 sporadic cases and 820 cases from 23 outbreaks were reported to the Public Health Service in 2006 in the Czech Republic. No case was lethal. In 2006 4,815 rotavirus infection were laboratory confirmed in 80 laboratories of the Czech Republic. Specific morbidity among children under 3 years calculated on the laboratory data was 792 cases/100,000 population/year; among children under 5 years it was 697/100,000. With registration of 2 new vaccines (Rotarix, RotaTeq) it is realistic to gradually fulfil extended WHO immunisation programme...

Hearing disorder or defect bring about disorders in the communication process, therefore an early diagnosis is of key importance for the children´s development and especially for the development of their speech. After the hearing examination, it is necessary to choose a hearing test appropriate for calendar or developmental age of a child. A hearing examination is essential in children with risk anamnesis or in children whose parents or other members of family are suspected of having a hearing disorder or defect.

Pertussis has been well-known disease since the middle ages and it was rated among the most frequent causes of deaths in pre-vaccination period. Introduction of vaccination in 50th was connected with the rapid decline of cases in the Czech Republic either as in other countries. Despite of vaccination coverage the illness had not been eradicated because of absence of long-lasting immunity both after vaccination and nature infection. The increasing number of cases in U. The review article discusses the ways of treatment of constitutional dermatitis. Life style changes and evaluation of possible causes are underlined. In local therapy the application of emoliences, correct use of local corticosteroids and topical imunomodulators are essential. Because it is a chronic and recurrent disease, the treatment of constitutional dermatitis is not a simple and short term matter.
