Craniocerebral trauma in childhood is socially much more compelling than in adults. Negative affection of future development, psychic
and mental disabilities should be assumed in case of severe focal or difuse cerebral injury in childhood. Relative brain immaturity and
specific skull physical parameters are the basic factors which influence the course of such a trauma in pediatric patients. Age specific
kinds of craniotrauma occur in newborns and infants, as are ping pong fracture, growing fracture, traumatic cerebral suture diastasis or
cephalhaematoma. Proper treatment of pediatric patients suffering from craniocerebral trauma demands different medical specialist
cooperation to achieve full recovery and successful future development.
