Phytophotodermatitis is a condition with varying presentations that mainly occurs in children as well as in those with a potentialrisk of occupational exposure. The disease results from contact with photosensitizing compounds, referred to as furanocoumarins, and subsequent exposure to sunlight. Skin manifestations typically develop within 12 to 36 hours. Skin manifestations canbe very subtle (erythema), but they can also present as deep skin defects with the development of necrosis and no possibility ofspontaneous re-epithelialization. The case report presents a young boy who developed this type of syndrome.
