How COVID-19 pandemic influences mental health of children and adolescents

Covid-19 pandemic has affected the lives of most children and adolescents around the world. School closure was one of the anti-epidemic measures and schools in the Czech Republic was closed for the longest time of all EU countries. Most outschool acitivities was forbiden too. Travel between districts was restricted for some time. The parents of the children often stayed to work at home. This was reasons for social isolation of children and adolesncents. A number of clinical studies have already been published, which have confirmed the deterioration of the mental health in children and adolescents. The aim of the article is not only to point out the impact of the pandemic on mental health, but also to point out some risk and protective factors.
