Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic disease affecting primarily intestinal mucosa. Repeated flare-ups of disease activitycan gradually lead to the destruction of intestinal mucosa. Vitamin D and calcium deficiency are one of the complications associatedwith the disease. This is a summary of the current views on vitamin D supplementation in children with IBD.

The study deals with standardisation of American scale of Neurobehavioral Assessment of the Preterm Infant (NAPI) which servesfor assessing of the neurobehavioral behaviour of preterm children since the 32th gestational week until the original date of birthi.e. the 38th to 40th gestational week. As a part of standardisation of this was creating the Czech version of the NAPI scale investigatoryprotocol and comparison of neurobehavioral development of Czech preterm children with American preterm children(normative NAPI data scale).

In following case report a case of 11 years old boy examined due to a one month lasting abdominal periumbilical pain with worseningis presented. He was also awakened by the pain during night and his stool became loose and watery. His parents worriedabout idiopatic bowel disease, for which a medical history could be testifying. However there was another gastrointestinal tractdisease causing his health problems – serologically confirmed Yersinia enterocolitica infection.

Phytophotodermatitis is a condition with varying presentations that mainly occurs in children as well as in those with a potentialrisk of occupational exposure. The disease results from contact with photosensitizing compounds, referred to as furanocoumarins,and subsequent exposure to sunlight. Skin manifestations typically develop within 12 to 36 hours. Skin manifestations canbe very subtle (erythema), but they can also present as deep skin defects with the development of necrosis and no possibility ofspontaneous re-epithelialization. The case report presents a young boy who developed this type of syndrome.

Diabetes mellitus type 1 is an antoimmune a condition characterized by a chronic increase in blood glucose caused by insufficientproduction, secretion or insufficient effect of insulin, which is manifested by a disorder of carbohydrate, protein and fatmetabolism, followed by disorders of conductive metabolism. Chronic disease such as diabetes mellitus is a stressful event notonly for the child for the whole family.

Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma (KHE) is a rare, aggressive vascular tumor that typically occurs during infancy or early childhood.KHEs grow in various locations and generally exhibit extensive heterogenity. They are characterized by highly infiltrativeand locally invasive clinical properties with ill-defined margins. The imaging methods used in our case-report demonstrated theirbenefit in a difficult diagnostic process.
