At present, a number of viral diseases can be treated causally with antiviral drugs. The indications of antiviral drugs are limited by a restricted spectrum of available agents and their pharmaceutical forms, toxicity, high cost, and, in children, even by age restrictions. Children with headache are very frequent patients of general pediatricians. Primary headaches despite benign nature are conditionwith significant negative impact on the quality of life of the affected children. Childhood migraine not only has a typical clinicalcourse that matches a typical range of nosological units, but also requires specific treatment. This article reviews the currentpossibilities of classification and acute and profylactic treatment options of primary headaches and differences between childand adult treatment and diagnostics.

Photoprotection in kids

Skin photoprotection is a complex of protective measures preventing side effects of solar radiation on skin. It consists of behavioralprecautions, wearing of photoprotective clothing and aplication of sunscreens on unprotected skin. Photoprotection of childrenskin is particularly important since their skin is much more sensitive to ultraviolet harmful effects than the skin of adults. Use ofsunbeds during childhood is considered very dangerous. Vitamin D is also discussed.

Analysis of invasive meningococcal diseases in the moravian‑silesian

Invasive meningococcal disease is one of the most serious diseases with a rapid course. Bacteria Neisseria meningitis is the cause of the disease. It has 13 serotypes, of which only 6 (A, B, C, W, X, Y) causes the disease. Invasive meningococcal disease has a fulminant course. The diagnosis based on the patient’s anamnestic data and physical exam, should be determined in timely matter and should be immediately followed by antibiotic therapy. Formic acid of 10–90% concentration has been used for its caustic effect as one of the methods of treatment of viral warts. Althoughnowadays considered obsolete for the risk of irritant dermatitis, burns and necrosis followed by scarring, the topical treatment isstill being prescribed by dermatologists. Mesenteric lipomas are a rare benign tumors of mature fat cells. Although generally asymptomatic, it occasionally causes abdominalpain, ileus, and small bowel volvulus, depending on its location and size. We present a case report of an 8-year-old boy witha mesenteric lipoma who has clinically presented repeated abdominal pain with vomiting. The pre-operative diagnosis of lipomawas suggested by abdominal ultrasonography and MRI. The diagnosis of lipoma arising in the leaves of the small bowel mesentery,was verified microscopically after the operation. The tumour was enucleated from the mesenterium leaving the intestine intact.
